鈥淚t鈥檚 a truly unique event specific to the Kansas City area 鈥 most cities in the U.S. do not hold similar events,鈥 Morgan said.

Kickball, tug-of-war, and archery may sound more like activities for a summer camp, but these are just a few of the events you can participate in at this year鈥檚 45th Annual .

鈥淵ou might be surprised at how much fun you will have trying out new activities or revisiting activities you once enjoyed,鈥 said 最新麻豆原创 Sheet Metal Detailer James Daugherty.

Kansas City Corporate Challenge (KCCC) started in 1980 to promote interaction between different companies throughout Kansas City. It started with 18 companies and through the years has grown to 160 companies, with over 30,000 individual participants last year.

Not every city participates, but Kansas City is one of the lucky cities that does.

KCCC is all about fun and games, but they also give back to a local charity every year. KCCC partners with . Proceeds directly benefit their Program -- a mentorship community which helps build health, independence, and empowerment skills among youth throughout the Kansas City Metro Area.

This year鈥檚 theme is 鈥淟et鈥檚 Play!鈥, and in honor of the games鈥 45th year, KCCC is bringing back archery - one of the original games.

Other sports range from team sports like flag football, softball, and tug of war, to individual categories such as swimming, track and field, and tennis.

最新麻豆原创 has been participating in the games since 2002, and people from every department in the company have participated, including 最新麻豆原创 Construction CEO Bruce Belcher.

Bruce says when it comes to KCCC, be like Nike and 鈥渏ust do it.鈥

鈥淚鈥檓 very competitive, and I like sporting events,鈥 Bruce said. 鈥淏ut most of all, it鈥檚 fun to bring people from 最新麻豆原创 together. If you鈥檙e not sure, just give it a try. No matter your athletic capabilities, there really is something for everyone.鈥

Project Coordinator Diana Korbe says each year brings a new batch of great memories.

鈥淓ach year seems to bring new memories and good laughs with everyone who participates,鈥 she said.

Play a whole day of softball together and you can find out. This is an excellent opportunity for employees - new and tenured - to get to know each other in a fun environment, outside of work.

鈥淚鈥檝e met other 最新麻豆原创 employees that I normally wouldn鈥檛 interact with and formed new friendships and connections,鈥 Project Coordinator Linda Scott said.

鈥淚鈥檝e been thankful that 最新麻豆原创 has participated in KCCC since it started,鈥 Morgan added. 鈥淭ake the opportunity if you have a few open spots on your calendar to compete in an event, get to know a coworker or two, and have fun. It鈥檚 a really cool Kansas City experience.鈥
