最新麻豆原创 Group Architectural Metal Team Creates Conversation Piece for Lenexa Headquarters
A multi-dimensional flag appears to ripple right off the wall at 最新麻豆原创 Group鈥檚 Lenexa headquarters. The piece was created by our own Architectural Metal Division at the 32,800 sq. ft. Architectural Metal shop in Kansas City, MO.
The flag was unveiled at 最新麻豆原创 Group's 100th Anniversary Celebration in September.
Vice President and Architectural Team Leader Allen Supplee says it began as a simple idea.
鈥淟ike many complex creations, the idea began with a simple hand-sketched design on paper,鈥 Allen said.
From there, Allen says the flag was designed to match the original Betsy Ross flag-making specifications, measuring exactly 4鈥 x 8鈥.
- The design team utilized Solidworks modeling to develop the part drawings.
- 16-gauge #8 stainless steel was used for the star field and alternating stripes.
- The stars were laser cut in the shop鈥檚 Trumpf 3000-watt fiber optic laser.
- 16-gauge stainless steel with a shop-applied 鈥渃heck finish鈥 was used for the alternating stripes.
- The flag was finished with blue and red prismatic high-gloss powder coat paint.
The Architectural Metal Division specializes in themed entertainment and parking garage facades. They work all over the U.S., including major theme parks in Florida and California, creating props and components for restaurants, rides, and more.
