AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. – Tom Crumrine, Vice President at ×îÐÂÂ鶹Դ´., was invited to speak as a panelist at the 2016 Utility Working Conference & Vendor Technology Expo held by the American Nuclear Society (ANS).
The three day event is held annually in Amelia Island, Florida. It has grown since its inception in 1994 into a major industry gathering, with more than 750 utility industry professionals in attendance and 90-plus vendor exhibits. Conference attendees are primarily businesses and individuals involved with delivering utility services to the nuclear industry.
Crumrine leads the nuclear division at ×îÐÂÂ鶹Դ´ Group, which provides many services to nuclear power plants including welding, fabrication, training, and staff augmentation such as: electrical craft and professional services - planners, supervisors, project managers, corrective action specialists, etc.
In his talk, Crumrine outlined the importance of achieving the proper balance of oversight, collaboration, and risk/reward between utilities and vendors while projects are performed. He explained that effective oversight improves the performance and operation of the group during project preparation, implementation, and completion. His goal is to bring both utilities and vendors together in the understanding that they need to develop more flexible models in order to share in the risk and reward concept.
